Strom is Horun‘s more coolheaded counterpart. In battle, Strom values discipline, technique and cunning to win the day, while Horun uses brute force to overcome obstacles. The adventures of the two brothers are described in the Elsigian saga, an epic tale of war and political machinations.
Not surprisingly, Strom is popular in dwarven realms, where discipline and devotion are highly appreciated qualities. While the Elsigian saga does an excellent job in describing the ambivalent alliances between dwarves and men throughout history, there is nevertheless mutual respect for the accomplishments of both races. As a result, Strom is also commonly worshiped in human kingdoms, especially amongst those of military professions.
From a philosophical point of view, members of Strom’s clergy rely on honor, discipline and solidarity to deal with problems in their community. Although not dismissive of freedom and individuality, they believe that extreme individualism can undermine unity. In addition, they are highly critical of hedonism, although only the strictest members of the church are vocal when it comes to common pleasures such as those provided by taverns.
