We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise? Or when we fall? Or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction? Is it evolution that takes us by the hand? Does science point our way? Or is it God who intervenes, keeping us safe?
For all his bluster, it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose his triumph. He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes, hoping he will have the courage to answer.
You do not choose your destiny, it chooses you. And those that knew you before Fate took you by the hand cannot understand the depth of the changes inside. They cannot fathom how much you stand to lose in failure… And all of life may hang in the balance.
We are all at our very cores, the sum of our fears. To face destiny we must, inevitably, face those fears, and conquer them. Whether they come from the familiar or the unknown. The way we face our fears, control our sanity and grapple with the truth makes us who we are.
For one man, his dreams control who he is to become. They hold his hand, coo his fears and push him along the road to his destiny. The call has been made, whether from God, fate, or from within, destiny rings with a thunderous rapport.
For this one man, his visions of a Goddess and the road she has lain for him, haunts his sleeping and waking mind alike. He can see where the future can take him, but he cannot fathom the changes made there within. Many questions arise, and are answered, and yet, many remain a mystery. Least of which is not, Why me?
For all the questions there are, why me, why here, why now, is this all real, or am I going mad? Can I really change the world? The powers gained from these dreams, be they real or not, have no answer other than a single word. Destiny. The right combination of the person, the right time, the right place.
Perhaps we would be better off not looking at all. Not delving. Not yearning. But that’s not human nature. Not the human heart. That is not why we are here. Yet still we struggle to make a difference. We dream of hope, we dream of change, of fire, of love, of death, and then it happens, the dream becomes real. So much struggle, for meaning, for purpose, but in the end we will only find our destiny within each other.
A man, Malcom Dominik, continues to have fantastic dreams about a beautiful Goddess and the powers she is giving to him. Though unsure of what truly lies within, he can do little more than embrace these gifts and hope they will grant him the strength, courage, and wisdom to free a nation.
